ORCAII具有低噪音和高灵敏度的特点。冷却使暗电流低至0.0012电子/像素/秒，1024×1024像素BT-CCD（背薄CCD）提供1M像素分辨率和高量子效率，从紫外到近红外波段，量子效率峰值超过90%。该相机特别适用于需要长时间曝光和低噪音检测微弱光线的应用场景。
